All wiring shall conform to NEC 2005 ART .680
In the above diagram the gold line indicates a #8 bare copper wire used
in the required continuous ground. Starting at the service panel, a #8
bare copper wire is ran to the grounding lug on heat pump (if heat pump
is installed), then to the grounding lug on the pool pump motor. Next it
is goes to the grounding lug on the light well, then to each grounding
lug on the handrail presets. From there it continues around the pool to
the first grounding lug on the ladder preset and is terminated at the
grounding lug on the second. If rebar or wire mesh is used in the
mandatory 3' concrete ring around the pool then it must also be bonded
to the ground wire as well.
