Light Well
Both types of lights are installed in the light well by our installation professionals.  There are several item worth noticing about the light well. The wiring for the light exits the fixture through the wiring conduit port and must be placed in a sealed 3/4" PVC conduit. The conduit must then go to an above ground junction box at least 10' from the edge of the pool and at an elevation at least 1' above the maximum water level of the pool. This is because the light well and the wiring conduit will fill with water. The light well is not a sealed system and can not be made so. Also remember that most areas require an inspection of the light before your pool can be completely filled with water. For this reason you should not fill your pool higher than the base of the light well and have the inspection done as soon as possible. It is dangerous to leave your pool only partially filled as there is the risk that static pressure could shift your pool. Shifting (also called popping) due to improper water levels is not covered under warranty so you should make sure and fill your pool as soon as possible.

Also Notice the continuous ground lug on the top of the fixture, this is part of the continuous ground system. During the installation of your pool this area is left open during the backfill process. See Electrical Specifications for more details.
