The handrail uses the smaller of the two presets and should be placed parallel to the center of the steps and 7" from the outside edge of the pool.  The 3 step ladder uses the wider of the two presets and should be place parallel to the side of the pool and 12" from the outside edge. The proper placement of the handrail and stepladder are shown in the diagram above. Please note the 4 grounding lugs on the presets. As the presets should be placed in concrete the continuous ground wire that attaches to these lugs must be attached be for installing them.
